Weekend Update

A Welshie Update:

After some fits and starts Jack is finally sleeping in his big boy bed. We were amazed by our luck when he first took to it extremely well. Then we felt like karma gave us our just desserts when he regressed. He threw fits and cried and we had to be in bed with him until he fell asleep, he slept in our bed, woke up at all hours; it was a mess and no one was sleeping. Jeff and I did some painful behavior modification and Jack now goes to sleep easily, stays in bed and if he does wake up he stays in his room and either goes back to sleep or waits until morning. It really helped that we created a sleep star chart; every time he went to bed and stayed in bed all night he got a star on his chart. Ten stars earns a toy.
Now he wakes up by yelling "Mommy, Oh Mommy!" "Oh Mommy!" and greets me with "I slept all night, I get a toy!"

We are deep into preparations for Poolesville Day 2008. Its funny how I want to completely redecorate the house inside and out in two weeks before Poolesville Day but I could pretty much care less another time of the year.

We are just over half way through our September Birthdays. We've celebrated Jen, Danny, My Mom and Brenna. We have Patrizia and Julie remaining. We went out to a nice dinner and ice cream for Jen's birthday. Danny was celebrating his 40th birthday so we went to a Frederick Keys baseball game which included fireworks and a party at the Rays. We took my mom to dinner at Isabella's in Frederick and ate and drank our hearts out. Brenna had a really fun ballet themed birthday party at her house yesterday. Jack ate nothing but cake and cookies and it was completely acceptable.

Jack has officially been accepted to the Onica Prall Child Development Lab School at Hood College. He'll start pre-school in the Fall of 2009. I like to think that our son is going to college at three years old :)
