Mr. Independence

I'll give you a perfect example of Jack's need for independence and total melt down if he doesn't get it.

Last night he got to pick a treat from his after potty using treat box. He picked an apple flavored gummy army man. Jeff took out one army man and gave it to Jack.

Zero to sixty in half a nano-second.

Jack didn't want to be given a treat, Jack wanted to pick it out himself and that meant physically picking it out with his own hands.

We've affectionately called this type of behavior as "independence" but maybe we should take a second look at annal retentiveness or obsessive compulsive disorder.
