Busy, Very Busy

Life as a SAHM, so far

645am trod down the hall, replace Lily's pacifier

730am actually wake up, get Lily

735am make coffee, make bottle

740am feed Lily while watching Lost on DVD

845am relinquish control of the TV to a mean, angry BEAR named Jack who although technically has his eyes open is not yet awake until juice has been drunk and SuperWhy has been watched.

10am put Lily down for a nap; take a shower and putz around

12pm feed Lily again and realize that at lunch time no one has eaten breakfast; curse myself for not being better at feeding the animals.

1230pm We have gone shopping in some capacity everyday this week in preparation for Jeff's birthday party on Sunday. However, after this week, I have to have several "no spend days" in a row. I have to replace shopping with fun and educational activities for the children.

4pm realize I am very hungry and tired. scrounge the kitchen for snacks; curse myself for not being a more proactive food gatherer.

530pm begin to make dinner; have difficulty because 1) I'm not hungry from all my snacking 2) I've eaten almost everything there is to cook for dinner and 3) cannot keep a stocked pantry or refrigerator. curse myself for not being better at keeping food in the house.

630pm dinner is ready, Lily is tired and cranky, Jack is bouncing off the walls, Grandma is lost, I'm close to my limit of being hounded for the day and Jeff is still NOT HOME YET.

655pm on Monday and Wednesday -- happily bound out of the house to Jazzercise and let Jeff get his share of the chaos and don't care that he himself has just gotten home from a long day at work.

830pm put Lily to sleep

900pm wrestle with Jack to brush his teeth, get him in bed

945pm try to decide what to do with some time

1000pm fall down dead tired asleep; some times I make it into my jammies.

Of course, through out the day there are more diaper changes, dish washer loading and unloading, chatting with Aunt Peggy, second cup of coffee drinking, laundry monster tamings, temper tantrum diffusing, GI Joe playing, "mommy" answering, checking on Grandma, playdates with cousins, milestone happening and memory making moments.

I liked working and I miss being at work. But I definitely like the slower pace of life now that I'm at home full time. Jack told me that he quit his job at Judy's house. (We had told him that we all have our jobs that we do for the betterment of our family and his job was to go to Judy's.) I asked how he felt about that and he replied "Good."
